Fresher interview preparation for IT jobs

Resume writing and sample template:

Fresher's resume writing will always have certain basic information which doesn't differ much when compare to others most probably.

And hence suggesting each individuals to explore more on your capacity or any special skill sets which could express interest on recruiters.

Example: Paper presentation winners, certifications on specific programming language, certain kind of game development, web designing, etc.

According to me, resume is nothing but expressing your potentials to recruiters in a kind of documental manner.

Please find below sample preferred template. I am not trying to spoon-feed too much rather than just trying to give you options about how to express your content and to develop your capacity for the same.

a. Addressing yourself

Starting up resume always with your details such name, mobile number, email address, date of birth, etc.

Certification logo can be optional or you can either remove the same in case you don't have any. Or instead you can place your own photo by replacing it. But, personally suggesting certification on any of the skill set which would give positive approach to recruiters.

b. Career objective:

Its upon your choice to mention career objective, but recruiters hardly read those content. Because mostly these content will only express professional interest, but not much helpful on recruitment.

 c. Skills summary:

This is more crucial stage in resume writing, recruiters will be more focused on these contents and they may express interest on testing your skill sets based on what you have mentioned in here.

And hence, I would suggest if you are mentioning any skill sets in this categories, you should be strong enough on answering any cross questions related to it.

If you are fresher or less than 3 years of experience, please not to touch Expert level on any skillset. Confidence on your expertized area would be appreciated, but sometimes over confidence will slip away your performance.

d. Education summary:

So coming to next part called education summary, and of course it would be mandatory but no longer differ from any of your other participations in the interview panel.

e. Co-curricular activities:

Any awards of educational departments, paper presentation, symposium, trainings, workshops, industrial visit can be accommodated under this session.

f. Extra-curricular activities:

Rather than educational summary, this category would help recruiters to explore your additional area of interest such as sports, hobbies, etc.

g. Accomplishments:

This area would helps to segregate your key achievements which would always differs when compare to your other candidates who are taken place in interview panel.

I am highlighting that this is more important because what you have done unique would express interest over you on recruitment process.

Example: Developed web page for any specific purposes, or developed any sort of game

Above examples would attract recruiters to focus question on the same.

h. Declaration:

This would act as formal conclusion of your resume, but nothing more helpful on recruiters who will not read any instructions under this category.

In the the end concluding the resume writing, whatever you have expressed in resume would be leading the questioning way of recruiters.

On certain cases, there would be questions like "Why should I hire you?". This question popup in recruitment mind when your resume is just a common case compare to others and there is no specific details in it to dig deeper.

Your resume writing should be in such a way to lead the recruiters to question your area of expertise. In other word, you are trapping them to make question in such a way on your preferences.

I wish each individuals all the very best for your preparations !!
